Do you travel with a pet?

Do you travel with a pet? If so cat or dog? More than 1? We take our maltepoo with us but leave the German shepherd at home to guard the home. So what about you? There has been some discussion lately about rvs being sold as "pet and smoke free". So please let's see how many of us travel with pets. Also please indicate no if you travel pet free. Thank you!

We travel with our Minpin. Would not leave home without her.
One of the reasons people purchase RVís is to be able to travel with their fur babies.

We don't smoke or have pets so I can honestly say ours is smoke and pet free.

We travel with our 15 year old Havanese. He is part of the family and we would not think of leaving him behind.

We travel 1500 miles to our seasonal site with the PITA CAT!. He will have no part of a carrier so he runs free in the back seat of the truck MOST OF THE TIME. He insists on being on mama's lap. When she has had enough she opens the console lid and puts him in the back. He gets the message and goes to sleep.

We travel three dogs. I cause more problems then the dogs. In my travels I have noticed a sizeable portion of owners also travel with pets. I have also noticed a sizeable portion of sale listings state no pets/no smoke. Not sure which is correct. What I see or what I read?

A few years ago I had a Tiffin Allegro Bus, was certain I could carry my cat along. But the cat had never traveled during her first six years.....

Placed her in a large cage, water, food, kitty liter, strapped into one of the hide-a-beds in the bus. Let her stay for about an hour, then checked on her.

Results: Kitty liter, food, and water all combined, flung all over the bus. Not a happy cat. Then, so I could walk her outside the bus, attempted to put a collar on her which went under chin and behind front legs... did not want her running off thousands of miles from home. There was no way she was going to allow me to place a collar on her as she had never had one, was not going to have one, and after significant blood loss on my part, I agreed.

So, my answer is no, I do not travel with pets, or at least my pets.

The Tiffin Bus was, on one occasion, very nice with four adults, Pit Bull and Jack Russell for a week at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. But in general, I travel with only my stuffed animals. Allegro_Bus_II_03.03.14-3 by Tommie Lauer, on Flickr

Yep we travel with two rescued dogs, Dixie and Lucy. Lab mix and beagle/spaniel mix.

One of the reasons we started into RVing years ago with travel trailers was so we could take our dog/s along with us.
