Does a drink make for a happy camper?

Hi....Id like to tell ya a short story if I may.....I have been working on old camper and today its finialy done except for the wife is making some couching's for the kitchen table as I right this...I checked out a camp sight today and made a reservation....This will be our first time camping and all is great until I decided to have just one rum and coke to cellbrate...Its been a long time since I have had anything to drink ...I wondered if a drink puts you all in a good frame of mind because for me all it did is make me think about the fact that business is slow and normally I can deal with that alot better........So no more for me..I guess Im no fun...Mat................

People ask me why I am so happy. My reply is "I woke up today a lot of folks did not". Any day I am verticle is an outstanding day. And yes a glass of home brew, or 2, or 3, ect does make me a happy camper.

My own personal rule is no more than two beers for me. After that, I'm content. If I drink more than that I'm seeking that all too familiar buzz that almost ruined my life, marriage & job. But that's just me.

I can be happy with it or without it. I never have a drink so I can feel like I fit in. Whatever makes you happy and content is the way one should go.

I thought you might like it, being new to camping like myself. I found this to be a really good, informitive forum and felt that you would like it as I have. I like the way we get notified in our Inbox of any replies to our posts. Pretty cool. I have already gotten so many answers to the questions that I have posted. They have been really helpful. In one instance I posted that I couldn't get the heat to come on on my Coachman. A fellow wrote back and said that he had the same camper as I did and that the switch came on really hard. So, I didn't baby it the next time and sure enough, he was right, the heat came on. Now that, was a big help!
So, when you get the camper all gussied up and ready to go, where are you gonna head out to?

I guess a drink to me dosn't matter one way or another. As long as I open my eyes in the morining and can get vertical, that's my biggest concern.

Some evenings I like a glass of wine to unwind with. Some evenings a cup of coffee is all I care for. I am always thankful to wake up and feel good in the morning and to have DH wake up with me. Mat, let us know where you are camping and how your first outing goes.

I think I'm pretty happy most of the time. I'm alive, in reasonable health, retired and out here enjoying my RV. But I enjoy my beer too - kind of like icing on the cake.

Focusing on what is not so good in life is called 'depression' and for some small percentage of folks alcohol exacerbates depression rather than counteracts it. Probably best if those folks avoid alcohol (and drugs too).
