It may be less likely to get stepped on but I don't consider that being a responsible pet owner just leaving it there when its going to smell & atract flies. Who knows if that bush will be there or if it will tumble away or if boondocking it may be right outside somebodies window.

If it comes out of your dog or kid, you're responsible for it.

I just bring a roll of TP along and when my dog does his duty I put a few raps of paper by it so he doesn't get blamed and I can blame the kids next door

On another thread there was talk of why CGs are charging for dogs. My theory isn't because it costs money to pay someone to pick up. Its likely to simply generate extra money.

Totally agree... I always ask " why" are my pets extra and the conversation usually goes along these lines....

Me....Why are my pets extra?

CG...Because we have to clean-up after them and we have a special dog only area.

Me...Do you you have a children's playground?

CG...Yes

Me....Do you charge extra for children?

CG....No

Me....Do you have a convenience store, a central club house, a library, tennis courts, a swimming pool, etc.

CG....Yes

Me...Do you charge extra for me to use these facilities?

CG....No

Me....Where is the most convenient place for me to have my dogs take a crap so your guy/gal can pick-it-up? BTW...great service, since I do get tired of picking-up dog poo.

CG....Listen Jerk....down the road another 2 miles is the ABC campground...we don't want you here!!

No matter where we stopped we had to tip toe through dog poop. I saw one man at a rest stop, let his dog out to run, feed and water, then wait for him to do his business. The dog did, he put him back in the truck and left. Every rest stop, picnic area and campground. I am tired of it. Please, please clean up so others are not left with crap on their shoes. Hard for kids to play in these areas. Have some courtesy
After wandering through this, I can say that it would be nice if all dog owners cleaned up after their dog. It only makes it harder for those of us that do as we get painted with a large brush......
As to the rest.... (return rant)
... you would be amazed if you saw 1/2 of what I have seen people do (I work facilities) (enough said)
.... do not try to touch my dog (he may be a better judge of character...)
.....for the statistician... 2010 government estimates... 567000 people with disabilities assaulted, worse than dog bite, by wait for it.... other people. (That can not be stopped right?)
To close... in theory a dog may have up to the mentality of a 2 year old, blame the owner who evidently is at the same mental age as the ones who let their kids roam free and blame someone else if they get hurt, litter, take illegal drugs..... (add your own).
Irresponsible is irresponsible.

Where is the nearest responsible people only park? ...I was just at a park that had no child hours for the pool. sigh

Sorry, it just dawned on me..... the OP spent most of his time in Canada.... sorry thought he was talking about us in the US. (none of it was wolf droppings, was it?)

Somehow, I saw that coming.

We travel with three dogs and I really hate being charged $2/night/dog. Most often I do see this as merely a nickle and dime revenue generator. Occasionally, a park will charge for pets and actually have MUCH better than average facilities for them. While I still don't like it, and it doesn't pass Jack's logic test, at least it's providing something for the money charged.

Many places do charge extra for children (and any other extra people above two).

Children usually don't poop in the playground.

The convenience store is self supporting through excessive prices. The cost of the club house, pool, tennis courts, etc. is included in the space rent so you are paying for them.

If you actually talked to a CG representive that way, I wouldn't blame them for saying you are unwelcome.

NO INSULT MEANT... but you may be staying at the wrong CGs. They do tend to have different clientele. Aside from screaming kids and barking dogs, which are very irritating.... the sounds of nature are not irritating or offensive. Most CGs will put a stop to an incessantly barking dog/s, loud diesel TVs running for hours or fighting screaming and possibly drugged or drunk adults. I know because I saw it happen in our favorite CG. The host there calls the local Police and they will escort the offender/s off the property.

Some people are just opinionated and seem to want to force their beliefs on others.

Don't like animals -- guess what I don't care stay away from my camp site . Ignore me when I or the wife go by- we get the message and respect your site and don't really care what you think

We clean up after our dog all the time and she only goes on grass where the pee will soak in,

To those that are constantly stepping in it ... pay attention where you walk . Animals do there business in campgrounds at night while looking for food scraps .
I don't pick up after animals .

Some people just look for any excuse to complain .

My dog keeps us alerted to prowlers
does not bark unless you try to get in the coach or knock ( she does not know the difference - someone is trying to come in )
The dog provides a lot of entertainment for the wife and myself.

We have a surveillance system running inside the coach when away from it and have the proof she don't bark in case some wack job makes a false complaint for whatever reasons .

Having said the above I hate people that let their animals run loose - bother people or other animals .

I hate people who let their kids run wild , make excessive noise , are rude to adults , and generally are representative of what society is becoming - undisciplined rude no class individuals of course this isn't "your kids" seems to be the case everywhere it seems .

Broken window - my kids would not do that mentality, Stolen whatever - again my kids would not do that . It goes on and on .... I'd prefer a person with a dog next to me than kids any day .

YMMV
