Ours died at 11 years from new. We'd owned the rig for 3 years at the time.

Mine lasted about 15 years then the cooling unit sprung a leak.

I replaced the cooling unit and it went another 5 years then set itself on fire.

Replaced it with a residential ...and the old bus just keeps Rollin on!

The only Dometic reefer I've had fail was when my neighborhood's mice chewed through the (plastic??) roof vent screen, ate the control board, peed and pooed on whatever was left and used a lot of the insulation for nests. The rest lasted as long as we owned the units, one 22 years. I only hope the 1200 series Norcold in the current 5er lasts as long as we own the trailer.

Our OEM is still fine at 18 years - but it's my opinion much of that has to do with the fact it's very rarely run off level unless we're on the road - and then the road motion makes occasional off level a non event.

They say the newer ones aren't as critical about being run level, but I see no offers from the manf's. when a 10 year old unit lets go with no explanation......

Ours lasted 13yrs., but the last year was a struggle keeping things cold enough. I was doing everything possible, from fans inside and out, new thermistor, even replaced the drain tube because if it doesn't have a trap in it warm temps can get into the fridge. Finally gave up and put a residential in. I don't know why I waited so long. Finally EVERYTHING stays cold.

What is the ARP? I've seen this a few times but don't have any other info on it... I googled it but I get all kinds of possibilities...

Thanks, Brian.
