I also hate these drivers entering an expressway, and not merging. I find they are either on the phone or just ain't paying attention. There are times it is impossible to merge into another lane. How about the ones when you can get over merge into your passenger side blind spot, and just hang there ? Thankful for the fish eye mirrors without them you would not see them. I was able to move over one lane to allow on coming traffic several increased speed and passed on right, about a mile or so I decided to merge back to the right lane. Looked in the pass oval mirror only to see this van. I slowed down to get him to over take me, and as he finally went around me his whole drivers side was damaged. I guess some people never learn.

I guess I wasn't too clear. When these truckers are blocking the lanes, there is no one in front of them, it's not that the "good lane" is backed up from the real merge point. As someone said the traffic will move faster if you wait and merge close to the construction point.

I soooo agree. This happens almost daily on the interstate that I have to spend an hour on to get to work every day. DRIVES ME NUTS!

I don't have a problem with the semis making left turns - it's the guys in cars that are in the right-hand left turn lane who start their turn about 10 feet before they get to the limit line. It's often a 2-lane left turn onto a 3-lane road - they start in the outside left turn lane and drive into the inside left turn lane, then end up in the far outside lane after the turn! A total of 3 (illegal) lane changes within a single intersection...

Back when they actually taught driving left turns were taught as a 90 degree turn - now they are two 45 degree turns with no regard to other traffic...

Regarding delayed red lights.

I was watching a crash the other day (Well, years ago) (This was back during the days of the Ford roll-over-a-matic explorers) and a driver in a Ford Explorer with the recalled tires still on it. was about 2 blocks in front of me when the light for us turned red.

IT's a delayed GREEN intersection, so a few seconds later a gentleman in a Cadillac headed in to the intersection on GREEN.

NOTE: SUV and I were headed North, Caddy East, it is a double divided road

The Caddy made it across south bound, past the median, and almost made it across the N/B before Mr. SUV slammed into the right rear quarter panel on his car.

I can understand why they put a delayed green in there.. Don't help, IDIOTS still run the red and crash.

but if you are one of the folks who thinks that the first 3 cars can go through RED.. then YOU are the reason for the delayed green.

Right turn on red.. Is allowed at that same intersection AFTER A FULL STOP from the right lane into the right lane

I see folks making that turn at 40+ MPH from the 3rd lane into the left lane.

I've been stopped for it, and explained calmly and rationally that I just couldn't sit there and let $25,000 melt-down right before my eyes (and between my legs). Never once been ticketed. Nor do I ever expect to be.

What happens when we have to swing our RV's wide to make a turn and cross a double yellow line? Should we all be ticketed for that as well? And while we're being ticketed, should people that have NO CLUE how to drive an RV take great pleasure in it? Or are only the clueless as to motorcycles be allowed to take pleasure in following the absolute letter of the law instead of simple common sense?

I hope you weren't ever a real judge.

Running the should is not an excused because you chose to run an engine that can't operate in traffic conditions that are normally encountered. The only reason to run the should is a life endangering event, not a poorly designed engine.

Ken,

I try to find a cooperative trucker to work the traffic blocking with by easing along side by side, never stopping but not allowing anyone around. It is absolutely phenomenal how well the traffic moves when you don't have lane jumpers. I recently had a hot shot in his big Ford (nothing against Fords) 4x4 decide he'd had enough of us blocking so he he decided to hit the outside medium...sunk to the frame in the mud. HeHe we all said.

Your going South and a car at stop sign to your right decides to turn in front of your vehicle just before you get to his area. There is no other traffic behind you or in front of you. The stopped vehicle had to use the space you needed, and could of waited another two seconds and have the whole road southbound to dance all over the street, but no, he had to turn before your bumper hits his drivers door.

I choose to run an American made engine, in everything I own. If my choices are to put an American out of work by buying foreign, or to sometimes discomfort myself and even risk aggravating the likes of you and dajudge, guess which choice wins.

I'll give you a hint. My father was a Toyota dealer for the last 30 years, and I could have had them at true dealer cost. Never owned one, never will.
