Dunlop vs Michelin tires

I paid extra for the Michelin tires on my coach (when I ordered it) Michelin replaced 2 tires for me 3 years age (cause of cracking) took a lot of h*ll raising to get them to do it. Now I have 2 more tires that are cracking, and it is close to the 7 year time frame for replacing.

I'm just trying to look at all of my options.

Bridgestone is another tire I'm looking at... It maybe my tire of choice before it's all over with.

I priced goodyear g670 and mich. Both were $4,900 drive out 29580r22.5 with fmca save about 150.00 a tire

Well, I finally "pulled the trigger" on new tires for the Sig... I decided to go with Bridgestones (250F). The price difference was over a $1000.00 between the Bridgestones and Michelins (even with the FMCA discount). Plus there is a "back order" on the Michelins that would take at least 3-4 weeks before I could get them. So...with all the crap that Michelin handed out about the side wall cracking I decided to take my checkbook and play some where else. This is the first set of Bridgestones I have ever had, so it's going to be a learning experence for me.

I have been waiting a week for a call back from Michelin's "Customer Care" phone line, (1-888-622-2306)...... apparently they don't CARE what problem I want to ask about/report.

9 1\2 years on my Michelin's, a bit of cracking on 4 but 2 looked just fine, not a single problem in all that time and looking at the cracking that I did have it looks just like old paint cracking, that tire sidewall surface is like paint over the cords.

Wow! After reading all the negative posts about Michelins it made me go take a close look at mine. I'm pushing the envelope since they're a little over 10yrs. old, but they have no cracking whatsoever. I even crawled underneath to check the backside, again no problems. I still plan on replacing them this winter but at least they are not cracking.

I was told by a tire dealer here in Canada the Kelly Springfield is the lower brand of tire made by Goodyear. $3500. and change out the door for 6.
Another dealer quoted just under $3500 for Firestones.
Size 1100 22.5 to replace 295 75 22.5

I'm glad that some of you are having good luck with your Michelins, however that doesn't excuse the flipping attitude that Michelin's CS has toward it's customers that aren't having the same luck.

Michelin stated to me that if you run the tires 15-20K miles a year than the cracking side walls won't be a problem, however, some of us still work and it's really hard to put that many miles a year on your coach if you are tied down to a desk.

Bottom line is I guess I'll see how the Bridgestones wear/last.

The Bridgestones will serve you fine. I have that same tire on my Drive and tag axle. I'm not a Michelin basher but I do understand they are pricy solution and other players are likely equal.
