Embarassingly Silly Question #5 : Sound proofing?

Are there RV manufacturers that make rigs that are specifically designed with good sound proofing? Are there some that are notably bad in this respect?

Or is this issue generally neglected by the manufacturers? I haven't seen anything in any of the brochures or www pages I've looked at addressing the issue. Maybe you get soundproofing for free as a by-product of good thermal insulation?

This might be useful, for example, when staying somewhere with lots of traffic through the night. Or in areas where there's a party going on, and your trying to sleep.

well i would say a bigfoot. they are "cold weather" rated. probably would stop sound a little better. But i think youre out of luck when it comes to that aspect... keep a quiet radio on and fall asleep to that!

"soundproofing" what?

In our previous gasser, the most objectionable noise to ever be heard was that V10 screaming between our legs.

The DP, that cummins is 40 feet behind me, I never even know she is there.

I think most, if not all RV manufacturers build with some insulation which does to some degree, provide some sound suppression. With ours, if the overhead a/c - heat fans are operating (as well as in 'fan only' mode), we hear very little outside noise and have no trouble sleeping. When we were in Bolder City last summer in 115 degree heat, the a/c units kept us very comfortable as well. Bob

In our DSDP we have to look out the windows to know if it's raining unless it's a heavy rain. We have the BriteTek roof which is quieter than the optional fiberglass, plus the optional roofing insulation and double pane windows. Nice and quiet inside unless the DW is yelling at me!!

It's like everything else, the more expensive the product, the better the insulation.

Ours is extremely quiet, both in terms of rain noise and other outside noise, due to the thick walls and insulation package used. It's noticeably quieter than our previous 5th wheels.

if the interior slide seals don't fit tight you will get alot of noise there. this was the case for 2 diff brand m/hs with us.
