End of first trip of the year.
After 5 weeks of holidays and a week of travel we are back home. We went to Yuma for a month and did the I5 corridor and wound up AZ. It was an enjoyable trip down and fuel was not too bad and we got better mileage then ever before.
The trip home was not as great. We made it to Jackpot Nevada the first night, and in the morning woke up to extremely heavy wind and blowing snow.We sat it out a couple of hours and the wind died a little or so we thought. The drive from there to Twin Falls was almost whiteout most of the way. After that the snow was gone and the drive was ok except for heavy wind gusts. We made it to Pendleton Oregon that night after another bout of snow on the pass there. We stopped for fuel and the truckers were saying you needed to chain up for the pass. We dodged that one. The next day we traveled up through the Columbia Gorge and that is a nice drive!! From Portland the traffic was heavy but that is just the way that is.
The coach ran flawlessly with no trouble, so aside from fuel prices taking a $.50 hike and some snow it was a nice trip. It is always an adventure!
