From what I've read and heard they are a great group. I plan on joining, since they have this deal going on, and I don't own an RV yet. You can learn a lot from them anyway... Give em a shot!

Escapees is an organization focused on full timing RVers. They offer services such as mail handling, etc. for full timers. Have a look at their website and see if it looks like something you would be interested in. It appears that the $29 rate is for a year.

Escapees also owns campgrounds that offer discount camping to members, and there are discounts at numerous commercial campgrounds through Escapees. The membership includes a great magazine that is published (I think) 6 times a year.

The $29.95 membership fee is a half-price special for their anniversary. The price is good until Oct. 31, 2014.

I just took advantage of this good offer and joined. We had planned to join so it was good timing for once.

I've been a member and used their mail service since 2010. They are certainly great for full timers.

If you're looking to recoup your dues via discounts at their RV parks, be sure to check out the details on where they are located and how what they offer might fit into your needs. Again, their parks are great and members can stay for less than $100/week, but there aren't that many of them when compared to some other CG chains.

They do, however, serve the broader RV community via lobbying, etc.

Best of luck.

Rick

Thanks for the input. Though I still don't own my own RV, I think they are a good source to learn something! Just looked at a 96 Gulfstream tourmaster anniv ed. that I spotted today a few miles from my house. No slides but generally looks very clean. Possibly a starter at under $40k is not such a bad idea??

One of the best moves we made was joining the Escapees before we ever turned a wheel. A dozen years of very positive experiences with Escapees. Fulltimers, partimers, anytimers all are welcome.

Got my new member package a few days ago. Now all I need is to buy an RV and hit the road! 😂
