etching of window glass?

Doe's Anyone out there , have a problem with window glass etching ,
I hear it's not uncommon in states ,like Florida, with the salty air ,to encounter this problem.

It looks like water spots ,but it's permanently etched in your glass.

This doesn't affect visibility , just looks unwashed .

John..
Not salt water but high mineral content in water and allowed to dry.. Arizona is about as bad as it gets.. Have some etching in Colorado from my well.. I use a chamois moistened with vinegar water to dry.. Helps some..
That is why some use De Ionized water to rinse..

Good point Ron , but salt is considered a mineral.
Will washing and rinsing , with water from a water softener solve the problem. We have city water in Dearborn ,Mi. it 's still not the best.

We have been thinking about installing a water softener , but I have concerns , with Sodium levels.

Even though we drink and cook, with purified filtered water .

Thank You , for your input , it's valuable.

Water softeners do not add salt to your water. The salt is used to clean the media that absorbs the minerals. The brine solution is then rinsed away.

I think you still get some sodium in the water even though it is only used to back flush the media.

The Edwards aquifer is the source of the water in our home and it's very hard. I won't even wash our cars at home because of the hard water spots and I have not found a self service car wash within 20 miles that is tall enough for the motor home. We can't use a reverse osmosis water softener because we're on a septic system so I've been contemplating buying one of the Watts 10000 grain softeners just to wash the RV. The salt usage wouldn't be that high in that application.

This item is what you need for your home. Used as a final rinse, it washes away all minerals and your coach will dry spotless by itself, no towels or drying required.

Prior to using the CR Spotless I did have the problem of etched glass. I found that when I could remove the etched spots or lines by rubbing them with a cut lemon.
