EURO chair installation

Thinking of replacing a long couch with 2 Euro chairs. From pictures they appear to have a round base. How are they attached to the floor? Or, are they attached at all?

Here's a past thread where users said they don't secure them and they don't move ( even in an accident ).

Here's how I did our HR Imperial. Removed the j bed, extended the platform, carpet. In two years they never moved, except when we were stopped, then one came out into the room to view TV straight on, put back for travel. Whatever you do, save the old furniture as the dealer may want it original if you ever trade in, go figure

A little bit off the subject, but does anyone know where I could purchase an ottoman in black leather/Euro style to match the chair in my unit?

My big Flexsteel recliner used to have a clamp that tied the base to the floor, but I removed it so I could adjust the position when I wanted . It doesn't move, even when we were in a collision!

A clamp is easy to make - just a piece of iron bar with a bolt that goes down through the floor with a washer and nut on the underside. Similar to the way a seat belt is anchored.

If you just want a travel clamp, you could install D-rings in the floor onboth sides and put a strap over the chair base - or even the seat - before traveling.

Had the euro chairs in the last 2 fifths, one at the rear and the current fifth has them in a side slide. Neither are fastened to the floor and have not been a problem.

Anyone have some idea where I can order a euro chair? I am having a computer workstation built and want a chair similar to the ones pictured above. So far my search on the internet has been less then helpful.

Ekornes is the manufacturer of the ones I put in. I purchased them locally from furniture store.

That may be the problem. Too many choices and looking for referral. The price variation is huge and you can't assume more $ = better quality with net. I have had the same dilemma with Euro Chairs. Bad part is that you can't judge comfort with your browser either. We want to upgrade our dining chairs and are having similar results. Spent a few hours looking and still no new chairs. Going to visit furniture stores is next for us.

Either leave them loose or put a simple clamp on them. It is really handy to be able to move them.

Mine is big (I'm 6'3") and neither the chair or ottoman move unless I want them to ...
