Mine isn't nearly as interesting as many of those that have responded. The company I retired from after 42 years used the first 5 letters of your last name and the first two letters of your first name as your user name. After using the name for many years, it stuck.

'Waaaaaaay back in the late 1980s I was the first person in my family to get online. Remember Prodigy? My husband's name was Bert, his nickname for me was Spike. BertnSpike was logical at the time and I have been lucky enough to hang on to it.

Raining Star was the name of the street I lived on when I first got online in the BBS days. BBS was the pre-Internet online technology. It's been the name I've used ever since.

Chechako is a native Alaskan term meaning "snowbird" - or one who doesn't stick around when the snow flies. We spent the last 10 summers in Alaska, while spending the winters in Florida. Hence, I'm a snowbird. I have a business making handmade jewelry, and I call it Chechako Beads.

I've been retired for over ten years now, and can't be much happy-er....especially with the furloughs and pay cuts my former fellow workers have had to endure.
