Explorer insurance

We've had good sam for years, now they are national. National was $533 for 6 months, explorer is $376 for a year? Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know anything about explorer?

Are you asking about the ExlorerRV insurance agency (they handle National Interstate companies), or the insurer called Explorer? As far as I know, Explorer insurance company only handles automobile policies and doesn't provide RV coverage.

I had my RV policies through ExplorerRV (agency for National Interstate) for several years. I've found them to be very good on prices and they also paid up on a major accident claim. For me, they have always been considerably lower priced than Good Sam's insurer (GMAC/National General).

As for the price difference, make sure you are comparing the same coverages.

I did a lot of shopping and found that National Interstate
was the most competitive. I have used them 2 times once on a minor accident
And once for a new windshield and I had no problems.
I like insurance that is set up for RV's because of all the
special coverage items you can get such as full amount of purchase price if a total loss and campground liability.
