Extended Service Plans?
Just signed a contract on a new to us 2013 Tiffin Phaeton 40QBH. As part of the deal process, they are trying to sell me:
1) An extended service plan via USA Travel Care Platinum
2) Interior / Exterior protection: EcoRVpro Exterior Shield and MicrobeRepel for the interior.
3) AGWS Tire and Wheel Road Hazard protection
I know these can be real profit makers for dealerships so not really inclined to purchase. But if anyone has experiences with the above products your feedback on your experience with them would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

1) why buy on a new coach, wait until warranty expires then decide if you want such insurance
2) no way, margin builder. IMO
3) good Sam or coach-net ERS is better

Never heard of US Travel and the one extended warranty I had on a class C didn't cover the one thing that broke (engine electrical). Tiffin is a good brand, all the appliances and misc. systems have their own warranty, so why not wait & see as there are several places you can get your own.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Tiffin's interior fabrics are already treated. Don't know about the exterior, but there's also several ways to get that sort of thing done probably cheaper.
We've Coach and believe it to be somewhat better than Good Sam, but that's our opinion - others may differ. Either will be a lot less expensive than from a dealer.

Thanks. The 1 year bumper to bumper warranty has expired. There still is the Tiffin 10 year construction warranty and 5 year delamination warranty. Not sure what the typical warranty is on the appliances, I suspect 1 year. Generally I immediately turn these down, however there are so many systems that can go wrong. Will have to continue the research. Have some time to decide.

If the rig has been well-maintained and is in good shape, I personally would not spend money on an extended warranty plan. JMHO!

If warranty has expired and you have no history with the coach, then this is a scenario where I think a 3rd party warranty can be used as a mitigation. After one year and history and comfort level with the coach is established reevaluate the need to continue.
