Extended warranty issue

Be very careful if you intend to use Guaranty RV service in Junction City, Oregon for work to be covered under your extended warranty. Our service rep. failed to follow simple procedures so our claim was denied, cost us over $1800. Nothing but run around from Guaranty, not even an apology.

Can you expand on what the service rep did/didn't do that voided the warranty claim?

Yes, would be good to know details. The warranty companies are often looking for most anything to justify turning down a claim. The service shop needs to be aware and very careful in how they position a issue, the fix, and everything they say. This is one of the reasons I am generally not a fan of extended warranties.

The OP is not the only one that has run into the same problem, and it's not just Guaranty. The service facility MUST follow the contract or the claim can be denied and it might not even be anything big to cause a denial.

Extended Warranty

Thought I had done everything correctly. I had called Performance First Ext. Warranty for prior approval to replace our AC/Heat Pump. I was told the parts and labor would be covered but Guaranty Rv would need to contact them. Guaranty did call and I was told our service rep. was given instructions to call when the work order is opened and give them an estimate on costs for parts and labor. That call was never made.
When I called Performance for payment I was told Guaranty never called with that estimate so my claim was denied.

Tough one. Guaranty has been in the service business for ages and ought to know how to do claims properly, but unless you have something in writing on the work order you may not have a leg to stand on. OTOH, since the initial call shows they were aware that an extended warranty claim was part of the job, Guaranty ought to take responsibility. Let us know how it works out. If necessary, maybe a small claims court action?
