Extended warranty on new class A

Getting prepared to take delivery of our new 43' Mh and was wondering what the opinion of fellow rver''s was regarding the extended warranty plans offered by the dealer. We are being offered a 5 yr 75,000 platinum exclusionary plan along with a tire and wheel plan, and a tire sealant protection plan. Any opinions would be helpful.

Pass. Let your new coach warranty expire and if you still want an extended warranty there are plenty of companies eager to take your money. Oh, if you are financing through the dealer, beware of the "I got you a better rate because the lender expected you to take the extended warranty" bs.

Definitely shop around if you want any or all of those repair insurance plans. And don't worry about buying one before delivery - you will be offered the same rates any time during the manufacturer's warranty period, and probably even for several months after that.

Much has been written here about the pros and cons of extended warranties (repair insurance) and I suggest you use SEARCH to find and read previous "extended warranty' discussions. Personally I would advise against the tire & wheel & tire sealant plans - they are expensive for what they cover and the risks are small anyway. Buying a whole coach extended plan is largely a matter of peace of mind, as is any insurance. You [hopefully] get some financial assistance if some major expense pops up. Just be aware that the repair insurance covers much less than the glib sales person chatters about and the expensive repairs they use as examples are not at all common.

Wait to buy an extended warranty, if then, till existing new component warranties expire. The dealers have a lot of profit in these warranties and push them hard. Just say no.

Later, if you still want an extended warranty, then research and buy independent if your dealer.
