Extended Warranty on old rear camera?

Long story short.....when we bought our used MH we also got the last 8 months of the extended warranty they had since new.

This week when I was getting it ready for this year I noticed that the rear camera no longer has any video feed. Bummer....but wait....

I looked at the coverage and the plan is the Ultimate Package which includes factory installed rear monitoring systems etc. I'll be calling first thing in the morning but I'm curious....the camera system is a 7 year old Weldex (camera is 3057B) which I assume is no longer made. If they can't repair it do they just provide the new model??

The deductable is only $100 so if we get it covered I'll be over the moon!

If the monitor and wiring is still good, you might check Ebay. A new rear vision camera can be had anywhere from $12 - $50. A new 7" color dash monitor is about $35. I replaced the old B&W 5" CRT monitor with a 7" color LED. For the price of your deductible, you could have a whole new system. Since my new monitor had 2 inputs, I added a right side camera to check my blind spot when changing lanes.

Thanks Bob...that's just the problem, at this point I have no idea what or where the problem is. It could be the camera, monitor or the wire in between. So if they confirm that it is covered then it'll be off to the RV shop. I had a look at RVCams for the Weldex products and needless to say my camera and built in dash monitor are discontinued.

So IF they cover and they can't repair we'll wait and see what they replace it with??

The extended service contract provider paid for replacing the rear camera system in our 2000 MH. The sony unit was obsolete and unavailable. The replacement is an aftermarket Voyager backup camera system which works very well.

Ok....it's covered and it'll be taken in for diagnosis and repair on the 26th.
