Extended Warranty prices going up Jan 1,2016

Since my 2015 motor home's factory warranty expires in a few months I've started checking on prices and have been told, at least by one company, that their prices will be going up 10-20% January 1. And as my 2015 technically becomes a year older on January 1 (they go on a calendar year, not a manufacturer's year) I won't qualify for the longest warranty coverage (7 years now but only 6 years later) and the price will be higher for a shorter period of time.

Has anyone with a 2015 or 2016 looking at a possible extended warranty for when the factory warranty expires run into anything like this? I always assumed that even up to the month before my 12 month factory warranty expired the coach was still considered a new coach but undoubtedly that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I'm guessing that if you told them you intend to buy in February of 2016 and you're now taking them off of your list because of their rate increase.....their increase would suddenly disappear!

You're probably right on that. When i told the salesman that my selling dealer had a plan also but they didn't try to sell it until the 11th month on a new motor home. His response, "of course, then when the premium will be higher their cut will also be higher". Guess salesmen can just keep coming up with new gimmicks.

Check the warranties on all the appliances as many will/may have two years parts and labor and another 1-2 on just parts. Don't know the warranty on the coach but may be longer than a year. Reading through the lit on my future mh may wait several years.
