I'm certainly not dreaming. In 6yrs. of being full time, I've used my ESP from Destruction Bay, Yukon, to FL., Maine to SoCal, and most recently here in Myrtle Beach for a new heat pump and Magnum 2800 PSW Inverter... NEVER paid more than my deductible.

It may be just the deductible, or it may be more, for any number of valid reasons. Then you decide to proceed with the job or not.

The service center doesn't have the ESP user any more or less "over a barrel" than any other customer. The shop quotes their price and you decide if it's worth the cost to get it done. The shop gets paid the same amount whether part of the price comes from ESP or is all comes out of your pocket.
When was the last time you used ESP? I have NEVER been notified of any additional charges over my deductible. The shop does get an additional amount and it comes out of my pocket. With out being notified of additional charges I am being " held over a barrel"

We've been using Leale's for our service needs for about a decade now. They are an authorized service center for pretty much EVERY manufacturer, chassis maker, and appliance maker in the industry.

We recently had an AC/heat pump replaced by them - what they charged me for the replacement was less than the best price I could find on the internet, with shipping. The only warranty work I've had them do was an engine decel valve which was under the original engine warranty, and the Workhorse brake recall which they handled with professionalism. All other work that they've done has been out of my pocket.

I would not hestitate to continue using Leale's as my go-to place for all RV work, and often recommend them to our friends. As a bonus, if you have work done by them, they will give you a 4-corner weight of your coach for free - but you have to ask for it.

That would tell me that the problem is probably not Leales RV Service. That would have me checking the fine print in my extended warranty.

FWIW when we have used our extended warranty on either the car or the motorhome the dealer alway laid out the charges involved including what would not be covered in the estimate going in. Added charges do not bother me nearly as much as surprises in the end billing.

Yep, I'm in the middle of that now. GS, ESC paid 8 hrs labor to replace all 3 leaking dump valves, CW said it took 12 hrs. I'm paying the extra 2 hrs labor.

I just replaced the 3 dump valves on my RV. I had no idea what I was doing it and I did all 3 in under 3 hours. 12 hours seems way out of line.

I have been a general manager of both automobile and rv dealerships for 30 years. I hear from customers everyday about every issue under the sun and in 30 years have never run into a customer having to pay more than their deductible for a covered repair. That being said, we usually are dealing with factory esp plans or aftermarket esp providers that we sell and represent. When dealing with warranties sold by other companies, we will help facilitate the repair but are payed by the customer who then deals with their esp provider for reimbursement. Most need previous authorization and again we will facilitate and help in any way we can. The key is for the consumer to communicate with both the service provider and their esp company.

My bad, 10 hrs is what the job took. My valves are buried deep inside and very difficult to reach. For instance, that fresh water dump valve is 3'from closest opening, with room for one arm only. The alternative is to cut a hole in the rear wheel well.
