Extension Cord on Inverter

I took a look at this inverter and the 12v plug is attached at a terminal by nuts. To do things right determine the amps you are going to draw and the distance. The do a google search for a wire size calculator. Enter your info into it. Determine voltage loss. The voltage you loose is lost as heat. You will need to fuse this wire near the battery. Most cigaret lighters use 12-14g. I'm not going to guess on the wire size or fuse size. Do the math. The inverter should be as close to the battery as possible in a vented area.
