Would not leave home without the extension cord and the first aid kit. With both you hope you don't need them but are sure handy when you do.

About like the consensus above, have one use it several times a year and all the time when loading the RV at home.

I don't carry one but have 2 at home that allow me to move my RV out of the garage but keep it plugged in.

I also use them to allow friends to plug in when they stop in.

I am much appreciated the reply. I do believe I am going to get one. Yes I believe better safe than sorry. I actually have 10 gauge 100' but it is for 20 amp. Using power tools is what I use it for so voltage drop is not bad. But that was purchased because of work HVAC on commercial sites, have GFCI with that also.

Looks like 25 foot 30 amp should cover me. Looks like that is what many have on this thread.

I can not imagine me telling the wife no AC tonight, well my 20 map actually works for AC but come on to do anything else you have to turn the AC off. I use the 20 at home. Whole point of moving from tent to trailer was AC, bathroom and bed.

Thanks all great site!

Yep, on this trip I've used it at least 5 times.

1 25' 50A Extension
1 35' 12ga Extension (Bulk wire Home Depot, and I terminated the ends.
1 30' RV Water Store Grey Water Line
1 25' White Home Depot Water Line
1 25' Cloth woven hose in a reel
1 10' Stinky Slinky
1 10' + 10' Stinky Slinky, always connected together and ready
1 20' Cheap Stinky Slinky still in the box ($3-4 on a clearing out stock sale from Pep Boys. Figured why not at that price.)

I will say if I had not found the 50 Amp extension on Craigslist at such a good price. That I would have gone with a 30 Amp for ease of wrestling with, storage, and weight. We can get by in most areas very well on 30 Amp feed... I'd say maybe 3-4 times in the last 5 years or so, in real hot locations, we'd have missed that 50 Amp. But figured I could always unhook and run the dual AC's with the generator if needed.

As mentioned, many of the extra items we carry may never be needed - but when they are!

I just bought a 25 foot 30 amp extension cord last month, after having
to barrow one last June. I am glad the neighbor had an extra one.
