Not sure if this is the correct forum but what does the sway control switch in my new truck do and does it help control trailer sway???

As I understand it, it detects sway and reduces engine power and applies brakes on wheel that will reduce sway. Not great for gas mileage, but it makes it stop swaying.

Does it apply the brakes to the truck or the trailer wheels???
How do I turn it on to give it a try next time we have a windy day to see if it helps.

I'd suggest you check in the owner's manual. There's two different sway controls available, don't know which you have. It definitely reduces power and applies truck brakes on wheel that will reduce sway. It doesn't cancel out bad loading of trailer or replace an anti-sway hitch. Going down the road with trailer swaying and brakes alternately applying and releasing sounds like a great boon to brake shops and gas stations.
