Fargo via Duluth to Sault Ste Marie Routes

I am planning a trip that includes that area of travel. I have driven US2 many times in the distant past but would like to know recommendations for the best (easiest traveled) route through that area for a 24 footer and toad. TIA

Hwy 2 is a good road to get from Grand Forks to Duluth.

I plan to pick up and use US2 from just outside Duluth until I get on M28 near Marquette. I am curious about the best way to get from Fargo to Duluth?
