We were traveling this week and DW fixed me some honey baked ham on Hawian rolls. Was great. easy and not messy

I usually try to not eat while driving. I don't think it's a good idea. That being said I have done it and when I do I want to makes sure it's some food that's not messy so I don't spill on myself and have to take my eyes off the road. Chicken Fingers and things like that are easy to eat with no mess. But, I usually will stop pull over in some park and eat in a relaxed setting.

In the car, sandwihes are ok

In the motor home.. Nothing but water or coffee. To have to hold a sandwich is going to take more "Attention" than I care to spare when driving a building. (Thank you Jeff Daniels for that line about driving a building).

I hate to admit this, but I have driven through Atlanta, at rush hour on I75 with a peanut butter sandwich balanced on my left knee, taking an occasional bite. If I used my right knee, one of the dogs would have scored.

I don't normally eat while driving, do drink coffee or a soda. But when I do eat while driving it's a Fiber One bar or DW hands me orange or apple slices. Anything more we pull over and have a relaxing lunch.

"Driving" through Atlanta at "rush-hour" is an oxymoron

. "Creeping" through Atlanta at rush-hour is more like it. You could probably safely eat a 7-course meal while doing it.

You know , come to think of it, it did take 30 miles to eat that sandwich. I never did look at it just hope pups didn't get a lick on it. That is only because they sleep when shifter goes in "D"

Nothing but bottled water, Neither DW or I like eating while driving. We have found it to be more pleasurable to pull of, Have a sandwich, walk the girls, then hit the road a little more relaxed.

There is nothing better than a boiled okra sandwich on light bread while driving. You have to lift and eat fast before it falls through the crust.

Allow me to be the first to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about the very most irresponsible meal I have ever eaten while driving:

A three-piece KFC meal complete with biscuit, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes.
And to increase the horror:
Not only did I split, butter, and squeeze honey onto the biscuit while driving, the chicken itself was the Colonels' greasiest (original recipe) AND...all thighs, too! I had to keep a whole roll of paper towels handy in case I needed to put my hands back on the wheel...

Best meal I ever got all over me!

It gets complicated when you have a sandwich in one hand a coffee in the other, and that darned cell phone rings. By time you set your coffee down, and re-position your elbow on the wheel, it's gone to voicemail. Kidding, but it is probably true for some. I used to eat and drink coffee all the time while I was driving, but only on a logging road with no other traffic. I still drink coffee when I drive and now have time to pull over for my meals.
