Filling and Sanitizing Fresh Water Tank

I drained the water system in our coach for the winter and am about to refill it and sanitize it with bleach. We have a soft water system for the house and I'd like to fill the tank with that water. However, the closest faucet is in the front of the garage and I can't get the fresh water fill in the coach any closer than about 50' from that faucet. I only have 25' of hose in the coach and instead of buying another 25' of hose I'll likely only use once a year I'm contemplating using the garden hose to fill the coach. Is that a bad idea?

I would say no, it would not be a problem. If the hose was hooked to the city water pout in the hot sun and you used that all the time, I would worry but not with just a quick fill of water. We would do it. Think of all the times we drank from a regular garden hose as children.

That's what I do. I run the water on the ground for a couple minutes to flush it.

I would just buy another 25' drinking water hose. Everytime I leave on any trip, my fresh tank is full of water from home!

Filling and Sanitizing Fresh Water Tank

I have a drinking hose stored in garage for same.
Working on just putting a drinking hose on the reel in the garage. Then it is always at the ready and the dogs get same potable water.
Between sanitizing and filling up it gets used on a regular basis.

Some day you may be further from a water hydrant than 25' again--get another section of hose, but be sure of the 50', wouldn't want to come up 2'short!!

We have a 25' and a 50' hose for the MH. Needed the 50' the past 2 months in Fl., 25' was just a little too short. Having said that, filling the tank with a garden hose is not a problem. Just don't use it as a long term connection to city water.

I'm going to go with the garden hose this time and will think about putting a permanent hose in the garage faucet.
