Financing Rv Info Needed...

I've been around the boards quite sometime now. I even posted a major run down on my camping life in the member check in. So those that have read it know I've been into trailer camping since before I was legal to purchase and consume alcohol.

Well, now I have a 73 Winnie Class A and a 96 Starcraft pop up and the wife and I have decided we are ready to move on from those two and purchase a hybrid trailer like I had when I started camping.

I have some credit issues I'm still working on. I'm just trying to figure out what credit score I should shoot for before even considering financing a trailer? I know the higher the better but I want to know the best min.

We are looking for something in the 4,000 to 13,000 dollar range. Most likely around 7,000 is the average for what the going trailer is going for that we like. We may even have the cash to just purchase a trailer out right for 7,000. I would rather not spend all of the cash but will if we need too.

The year range is 06 to 2012 and all used. I think the biggest trailer is 26' long. What would be the max term I could finance a used trailer going as far back as 06? I know the older the unit the less time you can finance it.

I've called a few dealers and none of them want to give me the terms over the phone. I don't want to waste their time if it's not within my personal terms.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

If you have online banking you can set all of your bills to go early, set up s cushion with your savings.

This will make the score go up.

Many dealers are hungry and will "stand on their head to make the deal" as one here quoted years ago.

You may need higher rate to get the credit, take the time and let the sales guy know up front down payment and budget for payments, it is their job to get your money under your terms

First get your free credit score to get better rates you need to be around the 650 or higher, lower doesn't mean you want get financing just higher rates and a bigger down payment. The way I read your post you might have credit problems so paying half cash or all might be best and save money in the long run.
