Find Propane fill stations

Although not as timely as Gas Buddy, this website will help find propane refill stations and alternative fuel suppliers by location.

Thumbs down

I just checked it out and found that it omits far more suppliers than it includes.

If you are aware of a supplier that isn't listed you can add them yourself here:
AltFuelPrices.com - Add a station

Like "Gas Buddy", this site is user driven and user interactive. The more people who use it and keep it updated, the more accurate and informative it becomes.

Ooops, where are my glasses? Yes, it is missing a LOT. I ended up buying from U-haul which wasn't listed. We can help make it a better resource by adding stations. I had been using a yellow pages app that omits U-hauls, but adds many cylinder swap places under the propane refill heading.

Anyone know a better way to find propane in an unfamiliar area?

Allstays has an app (Allstays Camp and RV | RV Parks Campgrounds) available for both the iPhone and the Android phones that will find everything from campgrounds to propane to Walmarts to you name it. I have it on my phone but haven't really tested it out yet. It goes for about $5. The one thing I did learn about it is that if the phone begins to run low on memory the app will lock up. If that happens you have to 1) clean out your phone by removing unused apps 2) remove updates to apps that cannot be deleted that you never use (Blockbuster, for instance). 3) Uninstall and reinstall Allstays Camp & RV app.

Allstays Camp & RV does an excellent job at finding even the most obscure campgrounds, as well as non-campground places to stop such as Walmarts, truck stops, etc.

However, it too is not very good at finding propane. Your best bet may be to ask a local. Ask campground hosts, gas station attendants, hardware store clerks, or anybody how has access to a local telephone book.
