First time out for a newbie!

So I had an opportunity to take the new to me 2000 Monaco La Palma motor home out. Actually, my intentions was to hook it up to a 50 amp power source and see if everything worked. Also, I would fill the tanks, sanitize, and flush em clean. My spot to do this was at Hill AFB Fam Camp here in Utah--$20 a night full hook up. I work on base so this would be very easy logistically. Except.......they lost my reservation, filled the Fam camp, and had only a gravel pad for me. Now what??

I managed to secure a 50 amp site at Willard Bay State Park, just north of my house...amazing that anything was available on a Friday with weather being in the 80's!

Long story short, everything checked out good! Plumbing and electrical was perfect! The potential disappointment of lost reservations turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

I am now ready and confident to get on the road and head out. First major trip....Minot ND to see our daughter and newest grandson! Yes!!!

Glad to have you here.

It's nice when you take your RV out and everything works without any hassles.

Nuclear,
It's really nice that all your components on your new to you rig, worked without issue. It sucks that the campground at Hill AFB lost your reservations. I've had that happen. it doesn't happen all that often but, when it does, it can really put a damper on your parade. You would think that, with todays computers, and all the technology, that it would be darn near impossible to "loose" your reservations but, it still happens. Oh well, as you say, it might have been a blessing in disguise.
I hope your next trip goes smoothly. Nothing like a smooth running, well planned trip. Good luck.
Scott

Thanks Scott! I am the guy that thinks a big 18x24 magnetic diagram with the sites on it, would have avoided this mess...place a MH mag on one site, a 5er on another, and a TT on yet another....what else besides reservations do they need to do??
Seriously, what if someone traveled in from out of state?? This would have been a total disappointment for them.

Ok...so I did get my refund, and the lead promised me a free night in the future....ok....we are even, we all make mistakes....yes?
