Glad all went well for you. A couple of things here. One, you say you went to the KOA at Williams, correct? If so, which one? Was it the one on 64, just south of the entrance to the south rim of the Grand Canyon? or, isn't there another KOA prior to the off ramp for Williams? And, I don't know if you know about it or not but, there's a small, spectacular little U.S. Forest campground at Kabab National Forest. That one's about a mile in, after you turn on 64 from I-40.
I love that place. It's seriously quite and, the spaces are very far apart so you're not cramped at all. But, it may not be open at this time of year. We use it every chance we can. It's primitive, no hookups but, that's why we're a portable city anyway.
One more thing. You say in your avatar, your area of origin is Mohave County. We just moved to Lake Havasu City. Man, this place is quiet at night. I love it.
