Now I will be the first to agree that staying in your MH is preferable to a hotel (for those of us that like the RV thing), but come on, it's not less expensive. (although I probably am guilty of using that "engineered" logic with the DW) It is not a valid comparison by leaving out the cost of owning the MH.

I have less invested in the 1996 MH (maintenance included) then the 2014 Rave 4 that we bought and have taken on the same trip . (paid cash for each one, MH purchased in 2015) Taking into consideration as you suggest, the total cost invested in each unit, taking the same two week trip to O'Fallon Missouri. If calculating this trip using your criteria the trip the MH was still less expensive. The Rave 4 cost me three X the price of the MH just to purchase it. Taking out the purchase cost of the MH and car The same trip cost us half VS taking the Rave 4. We make this trip twice a year. This is the first one with the MH.

I do not have a toad, I drove the MH back and forth to camp (15 miles each way) to daughters house. I am getting real good at breaking and setting up camp

Motor homes and boats are money pits. That's why we worked so hard for so long so we can spend the retirement money, all of it.
