Fixing fogged windows
I have some fogged double pane windows that I want repaired. The local RV shop does this now and quoted me $700 to do 3 large windows. That's actually 6 panes. Does that sound like a reasonable price? It's a 2004 Southwind so it's not flush mounted glass. It's the two large side windows and the front passenger window.

I paid that much to do one up here. There is a place in Texas, from what I am told, that will do them quite inexpensively (seeing as you are in Texas).

I've been quoted $400 for one but it is a big door window and odd shaped.

I replaced a passenger side window with Lexan for about $75, doing the labor myself. It was a thick as the dual pane window it replaced.

$200-$300 per window is the going price. Higher end for windows with valences and such, lower end for simpler ones. I'd say you got a fair price.

I think that I paid $6-700 for my two big windows, sounds like a good price to me.

Do it yourself fogged windows
I'm a die-hard do it yourself guy. I have more tools than Tim the Tool Man. After a through search on the subject I bought all the materials, made some holding fixtures, alignment fixtures etc. About half the ones I've fixed are still good after 3 years. Some I've done twice and they have failed again. I have since had 5 done at Sun Coast Designers in Hudson, FL. They have a unique process that requires heating the glass after assembly. And, they guarantee the repair for 10 year (pro-rated). I'm going back there to have some more repaired this season.
I have no relationship with Sun Coast Designers. Just a happy customer.

I Currently own a Glass Shop and do insulated windows and in my opinion you got a good price! Even if they disassemble the units /clean and reseal them , it is very labor intensive to do it properly and make sure it lasts. Any other problems such as severe scratching, broken glass is usually more as the glass has to be tempered or laminated by law. I have built some from scratch out of 1/8" inch laminated glass and believe me it was as a courtesy, not because I made a lot of money at it! Bobby

Picked it up today. Great job and this is a good time of the year to get a good deal at this place. Anyone in the DFW area, Professional RV Sales in Colleyville. All they do servicewise now is windows. They don't do mechanical work anymore. Plus they sell used motorhomes. I thought they were gonna have a problem with my front passenger window as it was rainbowing.
