Flat Tire

I've had a tire go flat at my storage shed. Some suggest that this will damage the tire & it needs to be replaced. Opinions please.

The flat tire will sustain sidewall damage if allowed to sit that way for very long. Replace it with the spare ASAP and get the flat repaired. Have the flat tire inspected for damage and serviceability before the repair.

Was the weight of the vehicle on the tire? Was it moved with it flat? If both are true, it should be replaced. If the tire was pinched by the rim anywhere, it should be replaced. If it was just a spare tire/rim combo, then it's fine, but you might want to figure out why it went flat and address that issue. If this is a cheap China bomb ST tire I would replace it and not take the chance, or rotate it to spare duty and watch the pressure.

Probably just flat on the one side - just turn it over.

toneumanns, the tire might be fine for a spare but imho I would replace the tire. If your going to use this tire as a spare make sure the tire repair facility doesn't plug the tire and uses a patch. Good luck.

If it hasn't sat too long it may be OK. I had an inside dual that lost 30 # over a month. It turned out that the valve stem extension core was just a tad loose. The tech checked the other side and also found that inside dual valve core was also a tad loose. Now they both hold air just fine.
