Flex water hose

Are those flex hoses you see advertized on TV any good,are they worth trying for the RV.
I never buy anything from those TV sales guys but they look like they would store easy.

My wife is intrigued by the ads for these things too. I did a bunch of reading and put hands on in a store. They are not approved for drinking water, so filling tanks is out. The woven cover traps sand, pine needles, and dirt. They don't stand up to high pressure and the connections have a high failure rate. They're over-priced for a garden hose. Other than that, they're 'As seen on TV.'

It seems to me that they have a fundamental problem in that they shrink to -what? - a third of their length without internal pressure. That means they might be fine when used with a restrictive nozzle but if no restriction (as in filling a tank), the internal pressure would drop and they would shrink.

Here is my take since I own 4 of them. 25 ft., two 75 ft. and one 50 ft. I love them. They don't kink, they don't get hung up around the car tires when your washing the car and they take up almost no storage. I have used these hoses now for only 8 weeks but so far so good. I use the 25 ft. in the MH to flush the black tank because when I am done I can disconnect it and put the whole hose in a small coffee can in the bay. Much better than trying to organize the sewer hose and flush hose (old style). That is my take on this thing.
