Flies are driving me buggie!

We are in North Texas and enjoyed several days of unusually warm weather, but not the flies. There must have been 50 or more in here Monday night and I am still finding more after 4 days.

Any suggestions for how to evict them other than swatting? Is there any way to discourage them for coming aboard when the screen door is opened?

At our marina we hang clear bags of water. Just laughed when I saw them but they worked.

we have more cows in north east texas than people and subsequently lots of cow POOP

clear bags with water seems to drive em crazy...then get in and drown

think IV bag with a small hole at the top...like a pencil diameter.

When they get in use the vacuum to suck them in. No blood, mess and it's quick.

Apparently it is the sunlight reflecting at all angles out of the bag of water that mess with the flies. It does seem to work....

I have always heard that the ziplock bags of water look like a hornets nest to flies and that is a natural enemy of flies? They have been bad in north Ms also, last week I was parked with the afternoon sun hitting the awning side of th MH and when I rolled the awning up about 50+ flies just rolled up with the awning. There were hundreds on the side of the MH but the guy across from me had his back to the sun and hardly any flies. I reasoned that they where attracted to the heat from the sun on the side of the MH, or my cooking! Yard guard has little to no affect either.

I figured out a way to greatly reduce the number of flies & mosquitoes getting into the RV. We bought a large (about 24" diameter) fan on a short stand/bracket that can be turned straight up. We set it right beside the steps, put it on medium speed, and turn it up so it keeps a "curtain" of air in front of the door. This has been very effective for us.

my D/Ws uncle did the zip lock bag with water in it over the door, I thought
it was funny but he said it works he lived next to cows no flies in his house.
When we go camping I get the hand held dirt devil out and suck them up
no blood no guts and no flies

We spent some time this fall on the forgotten coast of FL near a small fishing town. Several restaurants were right next to fish processors and they all claimed the plastic bags with water worked somewhat, except they claimed you have to put a penny in each one. Flies were horrible next door at the fish processor - not bad on the restaurant patio next door.
