Florida or Arizona?

"It's too humid!!" "It's a desert!!" Which do you like and why?

I asked my DW this question after a month in the Keys this fall and a month in the fall out west 2 years ago, she said you can't compare the two, as comparing the two is like trying to compare two different planets
We love both places, for their own reasons.......

I like Florida because that is where my winter spot has been for 17 winters.
Also I have friends from back in the 70's that live in the area.

Several hospitals(5-6) within 30 miles. Hundreds if not thousands of Doctors.
I have used 4 hospitals since 2011 all owned by the same outfit.

I don't like dust storms. Rather have rain.

Pretty good description of the "Golden Years" and where to drop anchor

Live in AZ full time, pretty much always have except for a brief detour to Spain for 3 years, which is like AZ in Europe! I can not handle the humidity and try to visit humid climes when they are a bit drier. As my dear dad used to say "I never lost anything in FL." His excuse to not have to go there!

Since I no longer own several pieces of property in Florida, not a lot of reasons to go there now. There are lots more 'things' to do there but AZ sure has plenty to do as well though mostly on a lower speed, for no better word - so it's up to whatever 'floats yer boat'

We need the cash flow here in Florida. The FAT RAT(Disney) needs your money!

Well said - I agree!

If on land, I prefer AZ as there are fewer people and the hiking/mountain biking is fantastic. If on the water, I prefer FL.

I guess we will be answering this question for ourselves this winter. We leave for our first post-retirement winter trip on New Year's eve. We will be heading down to Pensacola then across the Gulf on I 10 thru to TX, NM and AZ. We've taken late fall/winter trips to FL in the past, seeing the West coast, East coast and central. We've also taken three trips out to the Western US and just seem to like it better. Plus, we are not sure we would like going to just one place/state and staying there for 3 months. I guess we will be better able to decide by about April.

I do love fishing so I realize FL offers more in that respect.
