I believe that Trojan sells a watering product specifically for their batteries.

I have the T-105's and the flowrite Pro-fill and they work well together !

Is it possible my caps are different ?

(I just did learn to prime the pump and tube to fill with distilled water first before hooking the pump to the tube as I was pumping air for a while )

Pro-fill was of the best additions I've made to my RV. Filling is quick and easy ensuring that you will properly maintain your batteries extending their life.

I have 5 year old T105's w/ Flow-Rite system and the caps are NOT like yours. Different design on the newer battery.

If you poped the flip top caps out of the hinges, the Flo-Rite caps don't fit ?

Maybe you don't have any to test with. Call Trojan and ask them.

My problem with the system is that you have no way of verifying whether the cells are actually getting water unless you take off the caps and visually inspect them, and the whole idea is to not have to take off the caps.

I thought my Flow Rite Pro-Fill system was working fine, but it turns out it wasn't and I had no way of knowing until I removed it. And even then, I wouldn't have realized the floats were sticking unless I dismantled each cap.

I uninstalled my Pro-Fill, but I'm still using the caps, hoping there's something about them that helps prevent corrosion. However, because they're submerged in battery acid, they are a HUGE mess to handle when manually watering the batteries, and I have to be sure to wear my "battery acid" jeans. I used traditional caps for 8 years with my previous batteries and never got a speck of battery acid on me when watering the batteries, but I ruined this pair when I removed the intact Pro-Fill system to inspect the battery cells.

Yeah, when I had the system installed, the white caps are off completely. They jamb on the inside around where the fill level mark is.

Interesting, my floats look quite a bit different than the one you posted. I purchased this in 2013.

Wombat, you and I have the same system, it's the Pro-fill I believe. I had to trim a couple lengths of hose but it was fun installing the system on my 4 6 volts. The system was a little pricey, I bought it on Amazon and found it later for the same price at Camping World. I agree with others, this is one of the top mods I've done to all of my previous and current coach.

They changed the design to a more open one, and I wonder if that was an attempt to address the floats getting clogged with this foam stuff.

And even with the redesign, you can't know for sure that it's working properly without taking the caps off, and the reason for buying it is so you don't have to take the caps off.

I hope the new design works better, but if there's a float inside a chamber, then the presence of the foam stuff can still be an issue, and my lesson in all this was to not trust what I can't see.
