If the GS program provided me a larger benefit than the original program, I would sign up for the GS/PFJ card immediately. I'd take the $2500 limit as the 1K limit is a bit lite for me during travel season. Per my previous posts, there is nothing sinister, wrong or in anyway bad about providing the information requested for a "pull" payment.

I'm heading out in a few days on a 3000+ mile trip, so looks like it isn't going to do much good this year!

If you are using the Pilot/J RV card and have registered your card on their site, after the first 500 gallons you will qualify for "pump start" with your RV card. This gives you 'cash price' at truck islands and also your discount per gal. I also use my RV card when fueling my work truck and get the same discounts. Lately if I meet my 500 gal per month, along with my discounts, they will also credit your account with $15.00 for store purchases.
If you see me running down the road in this, I'm waving.

Hi cnkinthebus,
The 500 gallon rules was eliminated, for the RV program, quite a while ago.

I am curious about the $15 store credit. I am not aware of this benefit and can not find it on the PFJ web site. Can you provide where one can learn more about this benefit?

I also have the Professional Drivers P/FJ card with that and my RV card linked together in my P/FJ profile. Going back through my emails the $15.00 offer came in on my "Loyalty Account Snapshot" (all my P/FJ cards) emails that tell me how many gals I have left before reaching my monthly goal P/FJ established of 500 gal. Do you have a profile setup for P/FJ? You can list all activated cards you have for them on the profile and they all go to meet the goal. I got an extra RV card for my daughter who is in college one. The town has a Pilot and her gas goes toward my goal as well. May be worth asking them at the fuel desk for a Professional Drivers card next time you are in.

Same here. PLus the big truck stops charge more for their fuel than the others, so their 'discount' puts the fuel down to the normal price.

For those of you that have received the RV Plus card and have setup an online account to activate your card, here is something I have learned about navigating their site.

In the email and letter I received it said I would be able to change my control number (PIN), among other things. However when logged into the default screen, RV Home, and selecting the Profile link, I didn't see any direct option to do that.

While on the Profile page I went to the User Landing Page box and changed the selection to View/Update Cards and clicked Update. I then logged out and logged back in, at which point I was on the View/Update Cards page. I was then able to change the control number and a couple of other options.

When I was done I reversed the process so that my subsequent logins would put me on the RV Home page. HTH

I tried to find the page to change my PIN and couldn't, sent an email to them and they said there was no way to do it other than by calling and they'd have to verify other stuff too. Guess I'll get the letter and card out of the MH and try the above method.

We got ours in the mail today and activated them. I also did exactly what BobGed said and changed the control numbers. Pretty painless and I figured it out, BEFORE reading the above... If I can figure it out, anyone can...

We just got back from a trip through AZ and NM. We left via I-10 and returned via I-40. Throughout the entire trip, all of the Flying J's, Pilots, T/A's and some other truck stops were displaying their prices via the large digital signs. In EVERY instance, not just a few, but EVERY instance, the prices at these facilities were a minimum of .09 - .12 cents a gallon more than the local stations.

I just don't get the lure of these large stations. We used the Gas Buddy App set to diesel fuel and found fuel much cheaper at the next off ramp or a mile down the turnoff. In New Mexico, it was the Safeway stores that had huge islands and access that were the cheapest and offered .03 cents off if you had a Safeway or Vons card (phone number worked).

We use only the Pentagon Federal credit card (available to everyone) for our fuel ups. They give 5% off of fuel ALL the time with the only restriction being that you pay at the pump.

I just don't understand why so many are mesmerized by these truck stops that are sooooo much more expensive. I hear people say because they have large islands. I find that to be false at a lot of them. They put the pump so close to the store that you can't get out. As much as we love RVing and other RVers, the big truck stops seem to draw in the dumb ones. The ones who park in a fuel lane and go shopping while other RV's are lined up in the street waiting to get in.

We saved between .25 -.30 cents a gallon using our PenFed card and GAs Buddy APP and staying away from the truck stops.
