Are there any other truckstops offering something like the rvplus card that pilot/flying j offers?

I was at a petro sta last year they didn't have any discount cards for fuel. TA prices seem really high.

FLJ & Loves both have different programs, FLJ I save 6cents a gal, Loves is ten cents each. They bill your bank account directly if you can do the dance.

I was just on the Loves web site and I saw the Loyalty card where you earn points for showers and soda refills. I have no interest in that. They also had a fleet card that applies to commercial trucking. Nothing like the RV plus card with Flying J. I guess they get enough trucking business and do not want to capture any of the RV business.

Steven, thanks for that post in reference to Loves loyalty card. Saved me a lot of research time.

I have a Loves fleet card and it works just like the PFJ loyalty card/pump-start.

In 60000 miles of RV driving I have never found the huge difference in prices vs. Flying J cited her. I use gas buddy and find most stations (other than Costco) to be within 2 or 3 cents of Flying J. Just my experience.

I can burn 1 or 2 gallons of gas ($4 to $8 worth) trying to save $5 or $6 at a cheaper station.

Just my experience.

We did a coast to coast trip last year and every time we needed fuel, I noted the prices of Flying J, Pilot and the TA Travel Centers. In 6000 miles, only one had prices on par with the local stations. The average was about .08 cents higher nationwide. I too have the PenFed credit card and 5% off of my fuel purchase, usually averaging .18 - .20 cents off per gallon!

In this day and age, most name brand stations, even those popular in certain areas of the country like Maverick, Sinclair etc, have large modern stations that can easily accommodate large RV's. My last coach was a 36 DP towing a Chevrolet 4 door Silverado (61' long) and my new coach, towing the same truck (64' long) are easily maneuvered into name brand stations. A good example.....for many of you that go to Quartzsite, there is a Pilot at the west end of a town and a brand new Chevron at the east end that is huge. The Chevron is always several cents cheaper. There is even a Chevron in the center of town that I've pulled my rig through every year and it's ALWAYS several cents cheaper than the truck stops.

It's always nice to save a few cents a gallon, but with the PenFed card and using other than the truck stops, I usually save at least .25 cents per gallon. On our typical fill up of 40 gallons, that saves us $10.00.

Ten dollars is not really the deciding factor for us. I find that more of the "Town Idiots" seem to gravitate (no one here obviously) to the truck stops. They don't care what they pay, they don't care that they wait in line behind idiots, they don't care that the place is filthy, especially the diesel areas, and they usually are not comfortable with maneuvering their rigs, so they opt for the truck stops. Then they go shopping while leaving their vehicle at the pump.

We've been all over the west and as we travel we typically know where we will need fuel and what stations are there. We use the major stations, often will use the Casino stations, (big and cheap) Fred Meyer stations in Oregon and occasionally use a truck stop that we know is clean and has cheaper fuel than others.

Add the GasBuddy APP to your phone and find the best prices in town before you even get there. They even have photos of the station on the APP that will let you see how big it is. It gives my wife something to do as we near a town and need fuel.
