The cost of the emergency medical evacuation service went up tremendously so rather than drop it they upped the dues. Still a great deal considering the cost of subscribing to that service on your own.

If it doesn't appear to be a value don't renew. No different than anything else that costs too much. It's a pipe dream for folks to think prices can remain the same forever. At some point the price must be raised or the services provided cut back.

We chose to drop our membership two weeks ago.
After ten plus years we realized we had never utilized Any of the services.
Except a magazine that we seldome read.
The membership fee increase was not a consideration. We pd 3 years last time and I have no clue what that was then.
Im also trying to eliminate Mail volume.
We have never attended a rally and probably won't?
We buy our RV tires at the Michelin , Toyo
Dealers that sell us our tractor trailer rig tires.
And they supply several Trucking and construction equipment company's with tires.
So large volume equates large purchase
Discounts.
The owners of both tire dealers have
Newmar DPs so they speak our language also.
The medical portion ?
We have good insurance
Getting the coach home from anyplace is not an issue if I have a medical issue.

We have been to two of their rally's and they were well organized and a lot of fun. I do enjoy their magazine as well.
Membership has been dropping for sure and they voted last year to allow vehicles other than motor homes to join.
I think the more the merrier.

My thoughts exactly. I liked the magazine but, not paying $75 for it and the other perks I may never use. I have been a member for 44 years and its time to let it go!

Yes, it's very easy to say that it's my fault that I can't afford this and that. It's my fault that my standard of living has been going down. I should just quit complaining about everything that I complain about. Personally, I actually don't complain very much. All my life I've had to settle for less than "top shelf". I'm like a millionaire, the more I have the more I want. Right now, I wish I was a millionaire.
I like FMCA, been a member since 2000, I think. Thanks for reminding me that I might not be able to afford it.

We have been members of FMCA for 20 years. During that time we have been to one rally, bought MH tires once, bought toad tires once, and enjoyed the magazine every month. We have never been contacted about joining any of the local clubs, or attending any of their rallys. While the medical emergency evac may be a necessary option for some of the members, it isn't for us. I still don't see why they didn't make it like the emergency road service, if you want it, pay for it. The emergency road service would seem to be more used/necessary than the emergency medical evac service. Just my thoughts.
We are dropping our membership this year because of the price increase.
Good Luck,

For us the Medical Assist and Emergency Road Service are well worth the membership cost!

I've got no dog in this fight, but to this point (bold), I doubt if FMCA could separate out just that feature and keep it at a reasonable cost. The cost for just the Emergency Evac is probably very high, but spread among all members, it becomes "reasonable" as the cost is being divided by a large number. If it became optional, the cost would be spread among only those who chose it, a much smaller number, and the individual cost would likely be too high. FMCA could "subsidize" the premium, from dues, to keep the cost reasonable, but now we're back to the start. If dues aren't raised, FMCA goes broke. A decision must be made--keep the feature and raise dues, or drop the feature and keep dues the same.

We renewed recently for 4 years to take advantage of the last, low cost membership. That will probably be the end of FMCA for us. The only reason we joined is because it is required in order to join a chapter.
The $75 is not a big deal. It’s more a matter of no longer wanting to support an organization that has lost its way and has little to offer.

I have wasted $75 on other stuff like a horrible RV resort. We have attended a rally last year and enjoyed it. The Med assist and other features are worth it for us.
Each to his own.

I talked to A FMCA Representative last week.
They contract with an ouside service provider he said.
As I recall, he said base price was $70. Something annually for base program.
Call FMCA and ask them for a quote.
So you know exactly from the source provider.
For your situation, vehicles.
