I understand completely. IMHO, FMCA should have put the decision to increase dues instead axing the benefit up to the members. I could live with a majority vote.

This is crap. This is one of the main reason's I'm an FMCA member. I would have been happy with a $10 dues increase. What am I left with? Two goose eggs and a monthly magazine?

Attendees of one rally don't represent the entire membership. The vote should have gone out to ALL members.

Why? FMCA is a business -- They need an income to pay bills, just like everybody else.... We do not own an interest in it, right? So, they try to figure out the best way to balance their books.

And why should I feel better if everyone else had a vote? They just raised the dues 2 yrs ago.... If they raised dues again, we would all be complaining about how unfair another increase would be, right? Should we all be able to vote on the dues we pay?

I've been a "member" for many years, but I don't do rallies, their magazine is routine, so I'm done with FMCA. Nothing personal.... My 2 cents.

In actuality they did. They did a demo. Study and probably found the vast majority wouldn't use it a nd didn't want to pay for it. They would have lost way more members by increasing to them a useless service then the very small percentage that want it. If it is that important to you then write them and see if there are enough that need/ want this to make a ad on rider with a surcharge for those members only.
Its not fair to charge everyone to support a few jmho

Thank you for the link. We offered our opinion as well! Hope others will add their displeasure because of this unpopular move.

I am only in my second year as an fmca member.
This membership benefit, while not one i am likely to use, was an important one in my decision to renew my membership (note this came after a year of recieving thier magazine for free...)

I'll likely not renew.

But i will continue to display my way cool membership plaque.

Bitch, bitch, bitch! So the ten percent leaves, I don't care. I am responsible for my own problems and realize I have to pay for them.
