FMCA Newtown, Ohio Facility

We have sad news for FMCA members in that the facility in Newtown, Ohio on Roundbottom road is shuting down. All FMCA members who use the mail service have received notice that this service will no longer be offered. Yes alternative service have been offered, however as part of this reduction the RV park at Roundbottom road may well be closed. We have used this park several times and will miss it.
Cincinnati is a wonderful city. For all IRV2 members who travel, visiting this city and sending some time to explore all of the many civic attractions, will be well rewarded in exploring one of the most significant American cities that propelled the USA forward. Take time to visit all the museums, parks, bike paths, and eating places. Do not miss this area.

To my knowledge there has not been any decision to close the FMCA Roundbottom Campground. The decision to outsource mail forwarding was made due to the losses incurred in this operation and should not be confused with the campground.

No word on closing the campground. I was just with a member of the executive board and she didn't mention it. The ex board will still need a place to park when they come to Cincinnati.

The mail forwarding was farmed out because of the expense. I think I remember it was loosing about $80K/yr. The new provider is Alternative Resources which is changing their name to Dakota Post. They are also moving into a larger facility which will require an address change for those of us living on S. Westport Ave.

They were doing a upgrade on the road drainage last month when I was there, it would be a shame to lose it.
