Ford V10

We just bought a 2004 Winnebago Itasca Sunova with a Ford V10. Started looking under the hood because cruise control and the cigarette lighter won't work and found two broken wires.

What are these wires to please? One is blue and the other aqua colored.

Wires are pretty brittle and probably need to be completely replaced from original point of install. Is this a do it yourself job or more intense?

Thank you, Lynne & Jerry

Try to trace them back with a multi meter. Or ask this question on "are you a thread killer?" The boys would get a hoot.

My Dear Watson,

It would keep the thread alive. OK, I'll do it.

Are you sure both of wires, the one with the 90 degree boot almost looks like a vacuum line, which probably does have something to do with cruise?

Those are vacuum lines not wires. You will have to ford book to tell you were the go. Goto auto parts and pickup some black vacuum hose that old ones will slid into it. Splice complete

Check the fuses for the cigarette lighter, or perhaps the wire may have come off the back of the outlet, I've had happen before, like Johndale said, get some vacuum line also check the fuses once you've spliced those lines. I had a chebbie pickup I bought a while back .... Guy says not much works anymore so I'll give ya a good deal, turns out it had about 5 blown fuses, changed them and everything worked!!

Looks like you had some critters chewing on that line. I would check for other lines and wires for damage. Jim
