We asked our mail carrier and he told us. He said to let him know when we plan on leaving and he will give us the forms to fill out. He said it's pretty simple.

You can do it online but it cost $1....or call your post office and tell them where you would like your mail forwarded to....they do this for free...

Mail forwarding

what service do you use to forward your mail from home state you declare?
If you are traveling how does your mail catch up with you?

I moved from Wichita Falls, Tx to Victoria, Tx the 1st of November. Filled out all the forms at the Post Office and thought I was set. Have noticed a few things I expected (unimportant things like bills) didn't make it to me. Went home for Christmas and happened to check the mailbox. It was so full you couldn't get anything else in it! Went by the Post Office and was told they couldn't guarantee all mail would forward. Sure glad they are raising their rates next year. The great service they provide truly shows they deserve it. NOT!

We use MyDakotaAdress in Madison, SD. Terri is awesome to work with. We have an on demand system and when we want our mail sent to us, we send her an email or call her and let her know where we want it delivered. If we are traveling, we have it sent General Delivery. Not all post offices accept General Delivery mail though so you have to check with the post office before you have it forwarded. Many campgrounds will not accept mail so you have to use the general delivery route. When we are at a campground that accepts mail, we just have it sent to the campground. We have been full timing for 5 years and have had no issues with our mail.

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
We learned the hard way not to trust the USPS for accurate mail forwarding. While we are not full timing, we are normally gone 5-6 months. We established an account with Americas Mailbox in SD, all of important items are sent there on a permanent basis. We submit a temporary address change with the USPS (Our winter address is out legal address) catching items that are not of high importance. Then it's just a few computer clicks away, AMB sends everything to our current location.

This is not the most cost efficient way, however having penalties on late DMV registrations is not cheap.

We had family staying at the S&B .... they were SUPPOSED to pay the electric and stuff and forward our mail ..... they did not. We now have a mailing service in FL.

mail forward?

Working on a slow (3 yr) plan to fulltime...maybe sooner. Can you give me an idea on what you would have to have mailed to you? I can see

Medication refills.

The rest could be handled by relative if that was an option? They just scan and email to you?
License plate renewal
Drivers license renewal (maybe)
Anything else?
