I would like to put a hitch on the front of my 45' motor home, as I did on my truck when I pulled a trailer.
It provides for MUCH more maneuverability when parking my trailer in a "tight " spot.
Any reasonable comments are welcome.

A friend has one , installed to park his , box trailer, because he only carries a motorcycle . Other members , who tow and launch boats , have put the front hitch on for the added maneuverability .

Just an opinion but 20' truck 45' MH one makes a good parking rig one does not. Also the "Gen is up there so the hitch will be 4" lower(Got enough free space?). Most of the park might not have enough room to do a 45' tug(turning space).
I had a Car trailer behind a 40' motor home and got it parked when needed MOST of the time 63" total.

I see a lot of rigs at the motocross track with front hitches. Usually they have them so they can easily be towed out of muddy pit areas by bulldozers. I have seen some ingenious mounts that were removable as well. Without one you are relegated to crawling under your rig in the rain and mud to hook up the chain or strap and also risk having the chain or strap crack the bottom of your cap when pulled tight. Couple months ago in texas I had to crawl under to hook up, run back in the rig covered in mud and sit in the captains seat covered with towels only to run back out after being yanked out and crawl under to unhook. I stripped down to my skivvies in front of the whole world before I got back in the rig. After that fiasco I said never again and started designing my front hitch which I'm still working on.

What effect would the hitch weight of the trailer have on your front axle suspension and steering mechanism?

I like the idea of the front hitch/receiver option - at least it gives you the option to 'park' a trailer in a different manner, if the situation requires it. It's also a nice option if you have to be towed out of a situation. Either way, why not try it? Sounds like someone is thinking good thoughts here.
