Hate to see fuel prices so high but a reduction in crowds/traffic in Pigeon Forge area may lure us back. We were there couple of years ago and decided it had just gotten too crowded to really enjoy. Actually, it was more easy to get around in Branson than in Pigeon Forge.

My kids and my friends are all tired of my saying this, so I'll say it here.
I don't want to be on my death bed saying "I am so glad we saved some money by not doing ... or going to ... and stayed home watching that rerun cr@p on TV."

Personally always stayed out at Little River RV park in Townsend, and drove over to Pigeon Forge and Galtinburg from there.

I agree 100%. We're continuing our fulltime lifestyle and will travel where we want to.

Every 100 gallons of diesel I use cost perhaps $150 more this year over last year (so far). I can live with that.

We're seeing it go in both directions, a local Forest CG we like very much has been staying full with locals all Spring. We're currently at at destination type CG near Marion, NC and the place is almost empty. The owners commented that they've had a lot of cancellations with the cost of fuel being the reason given.

The unfortunate effect will be that some of the nicer destination type CG's will have a tough time surviving if this economic and/or fuel crisis continues or gets worse.
