Fuel prices vs travel.

One month ago we traveled from BC Canada to Yuma Az and thought the fuel prices were high enough but better than what we have in Canada. We payed as low as $3.84 up to $3.99 on credit card which is more. We are sitting here in Yuma and the gas and fuel prices are climbing higher every day. We have seen $4.17 cash price today and add onto that for credit card.

We were going to take a leisurely trip home going here and there, but if this keeps up it will be the shortest route home. Anyone else in this same boat?

So what I'm reading on a hundred gallons it cost ruffle 400.00 and with prices going up it will cost 420.00 I think I'll wait alittle longer since it was 5.00 a gallon when I bought mine.

If it goes to $4.20 and stops that will be good but as fast as it is going up it may well be over $5.00. In the scheme of things $20 isn't that big of deal, it all depends how many fill ups you do on your planned trip. If my retirement income went up like that I'd be laughing!!

I'm 2500 miles away from PA. If $4 on the way out and $5 on the way back, it is an extra $250 for the journey. Over the 5,000 miles it is an extra nickle per mile.

I live with it because there is nothing I can do about it.
But I like to keep it in perspective.

Just sayin....

Maybe you should leave now before the prices go higher.

I've waited too long to enjoy Life on the Road, I'm just going to make my $ go as far as I can and cut corners here and there .

For me, just skipping a few meals out will do it.

When I bought my class A in 2003 diesel was about $1.25/gallon.

But i don't worry about it because the government says there is no inflation.

Yes there is little to do about it but complain! It won't stop us either and it is still better than traveling by car and staying in hotels. After ranting about it I think now that life is too short to worry about it. Just pay up and go!

I think to much worrying and fretting about what you can't control ruins the whole trip and experience. Might as well go home, sell it and just sit in the rocking chair complaining about how bad life is. I'm going to just go and enjoy the scenery out the window and the people i meet along the way. Beats the alternative.

Just think about it this way. If, when you die, you have $10,000 left, you could have driven another 20,000 miles.
