Here in Western NY we are seeing diesel prices below $3 for the first time in years. I'm trying to remember diesel this low and I know it was a very long time ago.

Too bad! A bit south I paid $2.96 in NC the end of Feb this year, and $2.60 in VA in early Apr. But 3 weeks later it was $3.10 in NH, so the party ended!

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

California fuel prices are still high, BUT there is some movement downward. Diesel at Costco is $2.729, which is about the best price for a long time. Other locations is $3.30 upward to over $4 per gallon.

Unleaded at Costco is $3.299, and would love to see it down. Maybe it will continue downward - HOPE, HOPE!

Barrel of oil is less than half of what it was a year ago but sure aren't seeing it reflected in the price here in Oregon, still around $3 a gallon. Then when the littlest problem happens in the middle east it shoots up 20-30%???

Upstate NY I've seen $2.70 (Ballston Spa) to $3.19 (Plattsburgh) for diesel on the same day. The station I usually fill at was $2.73 yesterday. Gasoline is $.12 - $.20 less per gallon. Glad we waited until this year for our extended trip, beginning next week, as last year it was close to $4/gallon locally and a lot more 'Up North'. At $44.55 a bbl this morning for crude other then Brent($49), we are still being 'shafted' by the middlemen as it should be down, IMHO, around the buck and a half price for diesel even with the higher costs to produce the finished product
