Fuel Stops

I know I'm a little OCD but we are planning our first out of town trip. How do you guys research available fuel stops in advance of your trips ? I am driving a gasser pulling a 28 foot travel trailer.

The Allstays Camp and RV app also includes truck stops like Flying Js, Pilots, TAs, Loves, etc., and they are in a map.

Never plan them, drive till I need fuel, then find a station at an exit. But then we can go at least 800-900 miles on a tank too.

I use gas buddy. I will look at the route we are taking and look for lower prices. Usually when 1 station has lower prices at an exit there will be several with similar prices. I will exit and look at which station I think will be the easiest to get into. Usually don't have a big problem getting our ~40' coach and toad into a station. If it doesn't look doable I'll just keep driving to the next area with lower prices.

I've got a 128 gallon tank with ~100 gallons of usable fuel, I get 8.1 mpg so I have decent range.

My husband uses "gas buddy" as we travel. We have a Navion that will tell us how many miles we can go before fill up is required. We determine where we will be at that time and he begins looking for good diesel prices along the way.
We may stop before fuel required if we find a really good deal. Just finished a long(for us) trip and this worked well for us. Happy travels, Lynn

No need to plan. When the tank gets to around half full we fill up when convenient .

Here is a website that I use that helps me find a fuel stop. It works quite well. Find The Cheapest Truck Stop - TruckMaster Fuel Finder

Wife can do 150 to 200 miles... and that is when we Stop for Fuel/meal?

planning for fuel stops can drive you crazy.. bad entry, Full of cars, closed, Poor exit.

Gas Buddy is your friend.
avoid gas stations inside of Cities.
