Fueling at Pilot/Flying J
I have never used the Flying J RV pumps but there is one on my upcoming route. I only have a fuel fill on the right (passenger side). I've been to truck pumps where it doesn't matter because I can use the slave pump but will the Flying J RV lanes accomodate fill on either side?
Next question - is the diesel a high speed pump?

Pumps either side in my experience, but no high speed at RV lanes...

The FJ's we've been to have slave pumps in the RV lanes, they are not high speed.

Not all Flying J have RV lanes. Check the their website for the one you are thinking about using.

I seldom re-fuel anywhere else because of the convenience of PFJ. They have pumps on both sides of each isle, and a propane filling station there too.
Only the franchise stations may not have an RV island, all company-owned stores have them.

Not all PFJs have RV islands or propane.

Filling your propane tank at a gas island is pretty inconsiderate of those behind you waiting to get gas. Get your gas and get out of the way for the nest guy. :<)

I don't believe I've ever seen a propane fill point located at the same point as a fuel pump. I guess I always thought there was a specific ordinance against it for safety considerations.

We live on the east coast and we generally buy propane at the Pilot/Flying Js. Unfortunately you have to buy it where the propane station is located and sometimes they are situated where you do block one of the RV pumps but not always. The one that we use the most you actually have to turn around and head out to fill with propane so you do not block the pumps. I don't see a big difference in buying propane and using the dump stations which are also situated where the RV pumps are located.

The only downsides we found at a very few PFJ stations was that often you are pretty close to their store and the turning radius is pretty tight if someone decides to park inconsiderately. Also, again, only a few, pump island can be pretty tight to get into, particularly if they have a couple of big concrete protective blocks in front of the pumps. And no fast fill - but I don't need that convenience

the way I view it, fueling, adding propane, waste dumping are tasks that allow me a short break from the drive...............it is not nascar folks...........

Agree, business is just that. Your there for service and its energy related. If your in a tremendous hurry go to the truck lanes where sometimes you'll wait twenty minutes to fuel. I hate people that have no consideration for my needs.  If I'm picking my nose or scratching my butt just standing around confront me cause I'm an idiot. But if I'm taking care of my business wait your turn!

And if you are a Good Sam member and get the Pilot/FJ Fuel Card you can save I believe 6 cents per gallon......

Why do you feel it's inconsiderate that's where the propane fill tank is and it's there to use?
