Full Time Travelling to/from Canada with a small Bar

What do others do who are Full-Timers and have a small bar (10-20 bottles of wine and liquor) do when they are crossing the Borders. In the past have said about 10 bottles and they passed me through. This time had to give them a list and they gave me a bill.

What do others do? Considering shipping my booze to my daughter as she does not drink as much as my son.

Know the regulation limits, tell the truth, be polite, and be prepared to pay the bill if asked. Many (most?) border agents seem willing to let a few extra bottles slide by in a private rig, and also willing to ignore any open bottles. But not all. And I believe they get more strict if any questions are raised or they don't like your attitude.
